What I love about shooting weddings is that every couple and every wedding is different.  I love getting to know the bride and groom, and the things that mean the most to them. When a couple lets me into their world, it allows me to capture honest emotions, the connections they have with their family and friends, and excitement that represents the beginning of the couple’s marriage. Then go and add the expanses of country landscapes for photography location like Chinchilla for the perfect wedding day.

Most of my couples want a fun, relaxed day where they can celebrate with their guests. But in order to have a relaxed day, some planning must go into the day no matter how chilled out of a couple you are.  I will help you plan your wedding day so that it flows smoothly by creating a wedding day photography timeline. This will allow you to be present in the moments, for us to create beautiful photos and spend time with your guests.

Your wedding photos transport you back to relive your special day. The moments. The emotions. The excitement. The love.

My approach to capturing your day, is through a mix of documentary photography, creative and romantic portraits. I am constantly seeking to capture moments of laughter and tears as well as all the details. Family photos are important too so there is time allowed throughout the day for portraits of your family as well as the bridal party. And my favourite part of the day, the creative and romantic portraits of the bride and groom all captured in a very relaxed, natural way.

Weddings are a big party. Celebrating love with the important people in your life. All the wedding planning is done so its time to have some fun. Whether you choose to have a backyard wedding, an intimate ceremony in a country field or forest, or a bohemian wedding on the beach, it would be a pleasure to capture your memories.

Wedding Receptions are a big party - Chinchilla Wedding Photographer - Deb Boots

Brisbane-based photographer, Deb Boots loves country style weddings and just adores her past Chinchilla brides, so now includes Chinchilla weddings in her area of coverage with NO TRAVEL FEES.

What that means is, there are no travel costs associated with having Deb travel to Chinchilla or areas within the Darling Downs region, from Toowoomba to Roma.

There are some wonderful country wedding venues in the Chinchilla and regional areas. I have experience photographing weddings at Dalby’s Jimbour House, Jondaryan Woolshed, Jandowae Golf Course, Chinchilla Cultural Centre and the Chinchilla Footy Club. All provide picturesque opportunities for your wedding photos.

Wide open spaces like country fields provide beautiful landscapes and quaint vintage rustic sheds provide great backdrops to your wedding photos. Deb feels most at home photographing in rural and country settings, surrounded by the natural environment. There is something about the colours and tones of the trees, paddocks and earth, and simplicity of country life that makes photographing country style weddings highly appealing. Apart from the fact that country brides and grooms are more relaxed and know how to have a darn good old time when celebrating a marriage.

Whether you are having your celebration in a marquee on your family property, in a rural barn or industrial shed, in a community hall or a country homestead, I would love to be apart of capturing your special day.

And you can trust that I wont care if I get my boots dirty while galavanting around the paddock for your photos with the bridal party. In my opinion, it really wouldn’t be a country wedding if I didn’t get my boots muddy. Im definitely not your uptight city wedding photographer.

I have been a Wedding Photographer for over 7 years and I feel very lucky that I have a profession that allows me to use my creativity and meet lovely people, go on adventures exploring some amazing locations and the joy of documenting inspiring love stories.

Over the years I have learnt a lot about being a Wedding Photographer and have many experiences! From shooting in all weather conditions – sun, fog, rain and even in tropical conditions those time I got to shoot destination weddings in Fiji and Thailand. And the odd stressed bride and even having a bride faint, and broken down bridal cars and having to arrive in a taxi! I know how to handle most situations. Im extremely patient and more importantly help the couple turn a negative/stressful situation into a positive and happy outcome.

When it comes to wedding photos, I like to keep it natural and unposed for the storytelling but for portraits I do offer some direction.  When it comes to photography, most couples often say they are awkward in front of the camera, but my experience allows me to make you feel comfortable and that is where I do find that giving some guidance or direction can go a long way.

Here in South East Queensland we are fortunate that you don’t have to venture to far out of Brisbane to find country settings, making areas like the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Byron Bay and Northern NSW, as well as Chinchilla the perfect rural setting for your wedding.

Throughout history, prints and albums have served as a record of a family’s history. In the good old days they kept printed photos in shoeboxes in bottom of cupboards. It would be fun to bring them out and tell stories of the people in the photos and comment on the fashions.

I fear that with the amount of photos we accumulate between our cameras and phones, our most precious memories will get lost amongst the data clutter, or even worse get lost when harddrives or phones crash.

Imagine if our parents, grandparents or great grandparents didn’t have printed photos. We wouldn’t have these historical records of who the people were in our family that came before us. Through the clothing they wore and even the fact they could afford professional photography, we can learn about their lives, even from the limited photos available. Imagine now though with how accessible photography is, there is so much more our future generations will be able to learn about us and the times we live in.

There is not many events like your wedding day where you are surrounded by your family members all together at once. By printing your photos in an album, you are ensuring that future generations have a record of your family. While it may be hard to fathom your own children or grandchildren, one day they could be looking through your album. What you probably can imagine, is being a child or grandchild and looking at your parents/grandparents wedding photos and how sentimental they are to you. Your wedding album is an investment into your family’s history books.

Todays albums are not like the bricks that your grandparents had. They are contemporary art books that will look good on any coffee table. For those that love prints or something tangible, consider one of our fine art wedding albums.
