A romantic fairytale wedding at Abbey of the Roses
A love story that started over a coffee and a long chat.
These two lovers went and got married recently at the Abbey of the Roses in Warwick, Queensland.
What a truly unique and charming wedding venue in a beautiful country setting. The country house manor is an idyllic location for a romantic fairytale wedding. If you are a fan of the TV show Downton Abbey, then you will love Abbey of the Roses. And expect a visit from the resident house cat to join in on your wedding day celebrations.
The Bavarian bridal suite where bride Rhiannon got ready for her special day with her family, has a gothic feel with the 4 poster-bed, magnificent stain glass windows almost the full height of the ceilings and decadent chandeliers. A beautiful space for pre wedding photos of the bride with her bridesmaids and special moments with her family.
The advantage of the Abbey is it’s a one-stop wedding destination. Groom Karl and his family were at the opposite end of the building getting ready in the Catherine McAuley room.
Rhiannon & Karl chose to have an intimate outdoor garden ceremony utilising the gazebo. However, there is an on site chapel and of course other areas around the gardens.
As Rhiannon & Karl were signing the marriage certificate, I spotted Rhiannon’s mum and dad having a beautiful little moment and how happy they looked. As the day went on and I got to know both Rhiannon & Karl’s families, the two of them have such great role models of what marriage and love should be, so I have no doubt these two will live happily ever after.
Following the family group photos, we did do some photos around the Abbey gardens. But I had met Rhiannon & Karl out at the Abbey before the wedding day to scout locations and found this amazing country field just down the road, so that’s where we headed for our bridal portraits and we were blessed with an amazing sunset.
Then it was back to the Abbey for the evening celebrations, where even their dog made an appearance in the form of a cardboard cutout during Rhiannon’s dad’s speech. What a fun bunch!
