Lauren & Tim’s recent tropical wedding in Port Douglas at the Sugar Wharf was a winning white & green colour theme, both classic and modern all at the same time.
The venue, a quaint heritage listed building with whitewashed walls on the Port Douglas waterfront called the Sugar Wharf. Once upon a time the Port Douglas Wharf was used by the local North Queensland sugarcane farmers to load sugar onto boats for export. Now the Sugar Wharf hosts events and weddings.
It pays to have family connections in the local real estate, that Tim was able to use one of their stunning Port Douglas rental properties for getting ready. If you are ever considering a Port Douglas getaway or destination wedding in Port Douglas, check out their holiday rental website
Lauren’s gorgeous dress was from White Lily Couture. Hair DS Hair & Makeup, makeup The Beauty Room Port Douglas and the ah-mazing flowers by Floral Edge.
The ceremony was held on the outdoor decking area of the wharf at Dickson Inlet overlooking the Coral Sea and the Daintree Mountains, with blue sky and the sparkly blue ocean as the backdrop. The ceremony was conducted by Celebrant Anna Soltwedel.
Just a short drive to Rex Smeal Park (The Point) and Little Cove was the location for the bridal party wedding photos.
The evening reception was held inside the big white shed. Inside is lined with beautiful timber panels to give a warm cosy feel. The Sugar Wharf photographs amazingly, as do my local Port Douglas couple Lauren & Tim. Styling Event Core
