Yasmin & Luke were the coolest laidback couple on their wedding day. I attribute that to already being parents to their gorgeous little girl. And how amazing does bride Yasmin look is her stunning gown from Made With Love Bridal.
With family and friends scattered throughout the country, Yasmin & Luke chose to have their wedding in a central location in Lake Macquarie. It wasn’t far from Newcastle airport for those that had to fly in.
Raffertys Resort at Cams Wharf in Lake Macquarie is located right on the lake with stunning water views. It’s what we in the biz call an all-in-one wedding venue, complete with accommodation for you and your guests, various gardens for your ceremony and a reception room.
Yasmin & Luke had planned a surprise for the family and friends, and following them saying their I-do’s, they announced they were having a naming ceremony for their little girl – to even the surprise of the godparents.
It was a warming almost summers day and the outdoor ceremony on the lawn couldn’t have been a more perfect setting. You are going to have to forgive our groom and groomsmen for throwing on their sunnies as soon as the ceremony was over, it was super glare-y with the reflections bouncing off the water. We escaped to the shade of the trees for the family photos.
The day was made more amazing because all the bridesmaids and groomsmen were their to support their best friends as they got married and made sure they had a fun day.
Raffertys Resort is the perfect location for wedding photos, so we didn’t need to leave the property. I love summer weddings in Sydney as we have Daylight Savings from October to April. It meant I could split Yasmin & Luke’s bridal portrait into two parts, so they could have a break in the middle to mingle with guests, before heading out for some sunset wedding photos. The natural light at sunset is just soft and beautiful and amazing for photos, as you will see during the photos we did in the forest and down on the jetty by the lake.
I had a blast with these guys and was one of my favourite weddings of 2018.
