Last year I got together with some of my favourite wedding vendors for a vintage/retro inspired bridal photoshoot and we had intended on using a pretend bride & groom, however, along the way Ciara from Brisbane City Celebrants had brought to both mine and Anne from The Rose Room’s attention that one of the couple’s she had married about 12 months had a horrible wedding experience. Straight away both Anne and myself said, they can be our bride and groom in our photoshoot as we both though it would be great to give them an amazing wedding experience even if it was just pretend.
Over the course of planning the wedding, we came up with the idea to surprise Melissa and Aaron with a wedding vow renewal ceremony with the help of Ciara from Brisbane City Celebrants.
I personally got to take Melissa and Aaron shopping for their wardrobe and it was such a great day to see how excited they both were and getting a chance to wear retro cloths which they both loved. The very spunky non-traditional wedding wardrobe was supplied by the amazing Lisa at Atomic Martini Vintage in Clayfield, Brisbane. The gloves and shoes were Melissa’s own which she wore at her actual wedding – a nice sentimental touch.
We have been keeping the photoshoot under wraps because we had submitted it to Polka Dot Bride and today I am extremely excited that I can now share the vintage wedding photoshoot with you all as today its been featured on Polka Dot Bride. Below is the article or you can head over to the Polka Dot Bride wedding blog to read the entire story and see who the other amazing wedding vendors are that gave up their time, skills and some even put some moola into the shoot – a big big thank to you all for giving up a public holiday and for taking the drive up to Cooroy on the Sunshine Coast on a wet day where Im sure you all would have rathered be home curled up in bed in front of a movie.
I think I can answer for everyone, that we each feel very honoured and humbled that we could finally give Melissa and Aaron the happy wedding experience they so deserved.
