Newstead Park House wedding photography
When I met Peta & Stephen they told me they were planning to move to New Zealand after the wedding, but six weeks prior to the wedding Peta packed up and headed over ahead of schedule leaving Stephen back here in Brisbane.
I can’t imagine what being apart those six weeks leading up to the wedding, being one of the most exciting days in your life, would be like to not be with your partner to share in all that excited … I guess Skype got a good work out.
I love to tell the wedding day story through my eyes, and what I saw on Peta & Stephen’s wedding day was lots of great candid moments prior to Peta’s arrival, what we in the photography industry call documentary or photojournalism, but my instincts told me that because they just had two days together once Peta flew back into the country, that there were going to be tears when they saw each other for the first time on the wedding day … and there were.
I was fortunate to work again with the lovely Ciara from Brisbane City Celebrants who conducted the ceremony.
When you see this couple together as I did through our location photoshoot, its extremely obvious how smitten these two are with each other. I must admit for the first time during the wedding shoot, I actually felt like I wanted to leave them to have some alone time, but being the storyteller I am, I kept shooting to capture those special moments so they can treasure this day forever.
Here are some highlights from Peta & Stephen’s wedding day at Newstead House in Brisbane before heading over to Bijou Restaurant in Bulimba for the afternoon reception.
