NORTHSHORE HARBOUR WEDDING
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BRISBANE
Jessica + Ben
This love story all began at an IGA Christmas Party where both Jessica & Ben worked after being setup by the bride’s parents!
Ben’s nerdy proposal involved him building a customised website for Jessica with pictures of their relationship journey. As Jess was looking at the site, Ben got down on one knee, pulled out the ring to be ready for when she scrolled to the bottom of the page reaching his big question ‘Will you marry me?’ of course with yes/no buttons! Ben had a backup plan just in case Jessica selected ‘no’, the question came up again. Naturally the answer was yes and a bit of bling from Anthony’s Fine Jewellers sealed the deal.
Check out photos from Jessica & Ben’s engagement session with Archie their dog here …
Jessica & Ben chose to get married at Northshore Harbour in Hamilton. A beautiful, intimate setting for a Brisbane riverfront wedding surrounded by their loved ones. Basically Jess & Ben just wanted a big relaxed party.

THE GROOM’S PREPARATION FOR THE WEDDING DAY
Ben & the groomsmen got ready at home in Wynnum with Ben’s mum and dad there to give a helping hand. Along with Archie their gorgeous Golden Retriever.
The groom and groomsmen suits were from Ron Bennett and ties from Male Manor.
THE BRIDE’S PREPARATION FOR THE WEDDING DAY AT MERITON APARTMENTS
Jessica & the bridesmaids got ready for the wedding at the Meriton Adelaide Street Apartments in Brisbane along with Jess’s mum and dad.
The bride wore a beautiful gown from Sugar & Spice. The bridesmaids dresses were from Goddess by Nature. Makeup by The Ballerina Bride and one of Jess’s good friends who is a hair stylist was behind the creation of her fabulous upstyle. Mondo Floral Designs created the stunning bouquets and floral arrangements.
A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING AT NORTHSHORE HARBOUR
Northshore Harbour would have to be one of Brisbane’s best kept secret wedding venues. Northshore Harbour is nestled along the Brisbane River waterfront at Hamilton. Amongst landscaped parkland with a sandy beach at the water’s edge. Northshore offers the perfect opportunity to combine your ceremony and reception all in one beautiful riverfront location.
Located in Hamilton, the wedding venue is directly adjacent to the Northshore Hamilton City Cat terminal and next to the Eat Street Markets. There is ample parking available for your guests or if any guests are staying in the city, it’s just a ferry ride along the river.
Dreaming of a beach wedding but wanting the convenience of a wedding in Brisbane city? At Northshore Harbour you have the best of both worlds with the soft sand beach a short walk from the restaurant. A Northshore Harbour wedding can accommodate your choice of a beach or garden ceremony, followed by the reception in the restaurant.
AN OUTDOOR CEREMONY ON THE BEACH IN BRISBANE
Northshore was the perfect outdoor ceremony location for this bride and groom going with a casual rustic style. With their feet on the sand as the sun was dropping behind the city, the perfect romantic setting for Jessica & Ben to say their I-do’s.
The anticipated wait for the bride to arrive. What kind of gown will she be wearing? Jessica sure made a grand entrance arriving in a classic vintage black Rolls Royce. David from Somerton Limousines certainly provides stunning wedding cars but an excellent friendly service too, having lollies and bottles of water on hand.
As The Blowers Daughter by Damien Rice played, Jessica walked down the aisle on both her father’s and mother’s arms to join Ben at the beautifully decorated arbor.
Annie from Annie Grace Ceremonies was their to officiate their marriage. The wedding rings were from Michael Hill.
I always love photographing the congratulations photos following the ceremony. Coming out of this quiet, formal gathering into guests bursting with congratulations and big heartfelt hugs. It’s like an unspoken sign of ‘let’s get this party started’.
Family photos are important so there is always time allowed in the wedding day schedule for a group photo and the family photos following the ceremony. While I rarely share the family photos on the blog, in my attempts to keep the blogs shorter for faster loading and a more speedy viewing experience, the couple certainly receive family photos as part of their collection. Prior to the wedding day, I obtain a list from the couple of the family groups they want photos off, to ensure we don’t miss any of the important family photos required. If you wish to see the family photos, contact the couple for the link and password to their private gallery with the full wedding photo collection.
WEDDING PHOTOS AROUND NORTHSHORE HARBOUR HAMILTON
We then headed off for what is one of my favourite parts of the day, the bridal party photos and couples portraits. We didn’t have a lot of time before sunset, but our mission was to get in as many as time allowed! I love the Northshore colourful feature wall on a warehouse just down the road from the wedding venue so that was our first stop. We also scooted into the Story Bridge for a a couple of nighttime photos before making our way back to Northshore Harbour Cafe for the reception.
BRISBANE WATERFRONT WEDDING RECEPTION
Northshore Harbour is a beautiful, intimate restaurant space overlooking the Brisbane River. A peaceful area of Hamilton just 10-15 minutes from Brisbane city, tucked away behind Portside Wharf and Eat Street Markets. The room is a blank canvas to add your personal touch.
The geometric shape design with gold foil wedding stationery was designed by Brumann Digital and printed by Milton Minuteman Press.
Besides pretty wedding dresses and flowers, the wedding cake would have to be one of the next things on the list of visual yumminess! Check out Jessica & Ben’s wedding cake goodness from Whipped Cake Co.
The newlyweds chose Heartbeats by Jose Gonzales as their bridal waltz song for their first dance as husband and wife.
Jess’s advice for other bride-to-be’s planning their wedding is …
“Spend the time to make a plan, it will help so much on the day to make sure everyone is on the same page and you won’t need to worry about anything – let your bridal party do that!“
“ All of our suppliers were AMAZING, we weren’t too specific in what we wanted and let them do their thing … everything turned out spectacular. “
