You, me and Barbara.

Gillian & Sam were married at Leuralla Amphitheatre with the Blue Mountains as their backdrop.

Gillian & Sam are restoring a 1979 Kombi called Barbara, which they purchased together after 6 months of dating and had driven around Australia six months later after completely restoring her. Gillian & Sam attribute their strong relationship to the days and weeks traveling side by side in Barbara.

Since then, they have been continually working on her and unfortunately Barbara wasn’t ready in time for the wedding. Gillian secretly planned to surprise Sam with a look-a-like Barbara, named Mango and identical in colour, to drive Sam to the ceremony. Sam is captured below the moment he was surprised with Mango.

The ceremony took place at the Leuralla Amphitheatre with breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains’ Jamison Valley.

After the ceremony we moved across the road for the wedding photos in the Leuralla Gardens. Leuralla is a heritage house that now is the home of the NSW Toy & Railway Museum.

As we drove from Leuralla to the reception, Gillian & Sam shared stories of their travels around Australia in Barbara.

If it sounds like I am referring to Barbara alot, well I am, because she is a big part of Gillian & Sam’s love story, as well as a big part of the family and was at the wedding in spirit.

Gillian & Sam’s next big adventure with Barbara is planned for the end of the year, driving from Margaret River and heading north to swim with the dolphins. This time they will be sharing the ride with a new family member, they are expecting their first baby, a little girl in June.

Congratulations Gillian & Sam on your marriage and baby news.

More great moments from Gillian & Sam’s Blue Mountains wedding can be viewed in their wedding highlights slideshow ( something all our couples are gifted as part of their photography package ).
