BRISBANE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
VIEILLE BRANCHE BRISBANE WAREHOUSE WEDDING
Celeste + Andrew
When Celeste & Andrew first came to me when searching for a wedding photographer and told me their wedding was going to be at Vieille Branche, a place I knew well, I was just as excited as they were about their choice for an alternative wedding venue. You see, I am a regular at Vieille Branche for coffee, food and my regular dose of inspiration. I even had an office space there for a period, it’s my all time favourite Brisbane cafe come wedding venue.
Vieille Branche is a unique warehouse space in Albion, a suburb of inner city Brisbane. An eclectic mix of French farmhouse furniture and rustic things of old from the Normandy countryside. But you will feel like you have escaped to a seaside town in Europe, when in fact its an enchanted warehouse in Brisbane.

GROOM PREPARATION FOR THE WEDDING DAY
Andrew & the groomsmen got ready at the renovated Brisbane Riverview Hotel in Hamilton. With magnificent views overlooking the Brisbane River, and Bulimba to the left and Teneriffe to the right. The Riverview Hotel is decorated with modern geometric patterned wallpaper, a personal favourite, before I was a wedding photographer I worked in the interior decorating industry where we imported and specified wallpapers amongst other interior decor for commercial projects Australia wide.
BRIDE PREPARATION FOR THE WEDDING DAY
Celeste & the bridesmaids also got ready for the wedding at the Brisbane Riverview Hotel which was a short distance from the wedding ceremony & reception venue.
Poco Posey created the stunning bouquets. A selection of the freshest, locally sourced seasonal flowers made up these rather large posies for Celeste and the bridesmaids.
A WAREHOUSE WEDDING AT VIEILLE BRANCHE IN BRISBANE
Vieille Branche would have to be one of Brisbane’s unique wedding venues. Vieille Branche is tucked away amongst warehouses in the Albion industrial estate along Fox Street. Almost like a hidden cavern, discovered by creatives as it leans to an alternative lifestyle. A French farmhouse cafe serving yummy rustic delights as well as being a space that can be hired for photoshoots, creative workshops as well as weddings for the most romantic day of your life.
Boasting indoor and outdoor space, one of the advantages of having your wedding in the Vieille Branche warehouse, is having an indoor ceremony so its also serves as your wet weather backup. The space can host your ceremony and then flipped over for your evening reception. Come night and the space transforms into a European treasure trove. Whether you choose to have a cocktail style celebration or a sit-down dinner service, Vieille Branche can cater for both. There is no need to do too much styling either, as the furniture and antiques set the scene leaving your guests to enjoy in wonderment at all the curiosities.
Vieille Branche is also suitable for your photoshoot. Utilise inside the warehouse as well as Fox St Garden next door which has an old bus surrounded by a lush secret garden hidden behind the big metal fence.
Located in Albion, the venue is an easy Uber ride away from the city should you have guests staying in Brisbane city or you want to party on after the wedding. There is also ample parking available for your guests.
Are you planning a wedding but don’t want a traditional wedding or in a traditional wedding venue? Then Vieille Branche definitely provides that alternative space that doesn’t wreak of tradition, white table cloths and sashes, but full of rustic French farmhouse furniture, vaulted ceilings and quirky antiques. There is no better place in Brisbane to celebrate your joyous wedding with the people you love the most. Why not head down to Vieille Branche for breakfast or lunch, or simply grab a coffee and wander through the warehouse and garden space to see for yourself. Vieille Branche is located at 14 Fox Street, Albion and open Tuesdays through Saturdays. www.vieillebranche.com.au
A CEREMONY IN THE VIEILLE BRANCHE WAREHOUSE
Vieille Branche was the backdrop for Celeste & Andrew’s indoor ceremony. The big glass windows let in filtered natural light, a floral display hanging from an old timber ladder and foilage to soften the space, along with the farmhouse furniture that comes as part of the Vieille Branche charm, provided a rustic but elegant background for saying their ‘I-do’s.
The anticipated wait for the bride to arrive. What kind of dress will she be wearing? Celeste made a grand entrance arriving in a cute little tea-length dress number.
The band Tom Foolery performed as Celeste walked down the aisle on her father’s arm to join Andrew at the alter.
I always love photographing the congratulations photos following the ceremony. Coming out of this quiet, formal gathering into guests bursting with congratulations and big heartfelt hugs. It’s like an unspoken sign of ‘let’s get this party started’.
Family photos are important so there is always time allowed in the wedding day schedule for family photos following the ceremony. While I rarely share the family photos on the blog, in my attempts to keep the blogs shorter for faster loading and a more speedy viewing experience, the couple certainly receive family photos as part of their collection. Prior to the wedding day, I obtain a list from the couple of the family groups they want photos off, to ensure we don’t miss any of the important family photos required. If you wish to see the family photos, contact the couple for the link and password to their private gallery with the full wedding photo collection.
WEDDING PHOTOS AT VIEILLE BRANCHE AND AROUND THE LANEWAYS OF ALBION
We then headed off for what is one of my favourite parts of the day, the bridal party photos and couples portraits.
There are so many great locations around the Vieille Branche warehouse and Fox St Garden for wedding photos. There is the old bus, a container and the lush gardens.
We then wandered around the local Albion neighbourhood, finding some cool walls and graffiti art to use, even a wall dedicated to Queensland Rail ;)
BRISBANE WAREHOUSE WEDDING RECEPTION
Returning to Vieille Branche for the evening reception, the bride and groom entered under a trail of sparklers – now that is the way to start a party!
Followed by the cake cutting and first dance to get the formalities out of the way. Then it was time for the Tom Foolery Band to play some tunes and get the party underway.
